The Centre for Cultural Partnerships at the University of Melbourne, Australia, now invites applications for a new program. Situated in the heart of the culturally vibrant Southbank Arts Precinct in Melbourne, we are currently offering places in our two-year (four-year part-time) Master of Arts and Community Practice (MACP). The application closing date is 31 October 2015 for commencement in March 2016.
This Masters by Coursework program provides an intensive learning experience for students to examine the intersection of cultural development, art and social practice, and community arts. Students will be immersed in field work sites and scenarios while engaging in critical debates and independent research with faculty supervision. Students will deepen and extend their practice as artists, community workers, policy makers or creative producers while broadening their international networks. The course has multiple modes of delivery, including classroom, online and fieldwork, and an elective structure which includes a low-residency option for students based outside of Melbourne.
Our graduates work across a range of fields, including justice, education, health and local government contexts. You will develop skills in creative negotiation, research, partnership brokering and problem-solving within communities and across cultural and institutional contexts.
