The Curatorial Program for Research (CPR) in association with the Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center (ECADC) is pleased to announce an open call for curators for its inaugural research program, which will take place in cities across Eastern & Northern Europe during October of 2015.
CPR 2015: Eastern & Northern Europe will occur over the course of 20 days across multiple cities. Each trip gathers a cohort of ten curators, and stresses both academic rigor and on-site research. Cities feature a specialized curricula, which include readings and accompanying lectures on local socio-political history, arts, and culture. These are complemented by daily visits to artist studios and local arts institutions. During the program, the participants will present and discuss assigned readings in relation to on-site visits.
Following the trip, each curator is asked to submit a proposal for a project in his/her home city; one winning proposal will be awarded funds for its production.

Both independent curators and those with institutional affiliations may apply; only applications from established and emerging curators (two+ years of professional experience) will be considered. A jury comprised of CPR's executive board as well as local CPR hosts will select the participants.

About the Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center
The Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center (ECADC) is a nonprofit foundation focused both on fostering international exposure for Estonian artists and on developing the contemporary art scene in Estonia. Founded in 2012, the center functions as an umbrella organization for local partner institutions, creating strategic international partnerships in the field of contemporary art. With team members based in New York and Tallinn, Estonia, ECADC organizes a Visiting Curators Programme, Tallinn Tuesday gallery nights, studio visits to support emerging artists, as well as an international gallery internship programme and a biannual Gallerist Master Course.
